I got this bourbon that was gifted to me, really tasty i don’t know much about it besides what google is telling me.

Description

The first and only Solera aged/blended bourbon on the market! Using whiskey made in their new stills then kick started aging in small oak barrels and mixed with sourced bourbons of various ages. The final whiskey taken off the solera is put into 500 litre ex Oloroso Sherry barrels to round and complete the proper flavor profile desired. Ex Master Distiller Dave Pickerell has his talented palate and distilling knowledge hard at work creating this bourbon.

I’m guessing it has a very pronounced S herry flavor. sultana raisins. I love anything Sherry and I really dig how a solera works. I’m wondering if running Burbon through a solera might be too much oxidation. H ow does it taste?

Here’s what I picked up on Saturday. i was di sapp ointed that it’s not cask strength though. Coniac cask finished.

It’s 10:30 on a Monday morning. Scotch of course!

Kidding. It’s coffee. Though I made a pilgrimage to Costco yesterday morning, got home at 9am and cracked a bomber of Coffee Lager. Followed by another. Then 3 Fat Tires. Then picked up another 8 tall cans of coffee lager and a flat of hard iced tea/lemonade. Stopped around dinnertime. Haven’t taken inventory yet, but there’s quite a bit left. 5AM sucked though.

Tasty and  good for warm days. I have found that it is most refreshing immediately after you realize that you don’t have everything that you need for that flood light install and sure as hell aren’t going to the hardware store on Memorial Day. “Sorry dear, next weekend for sure!”

I have never had coffee lager although i got this mexican chocolate stout last year that was really good.

Coffee. But damn, that cigar looks good. I quit a while ago, and there are times when I’d really like to sit and enjoy a good stick.

Cold lager would be my choice for a hot day, but im not complaining about this bourbon. I hate electrical work lol.

Even more so when it is on an old barn that every electrical project thus far has resulted in running new wires and reconfiguring junction boxes so that the damn thing won’t burn down on whatever circuit I’m working on. Back when it was built I’m pretty sure the only building codes were:  as long as people don’t sleep in it then we don’t really care what you build.

100% agree with the Zoltans, but we’ve got awesome craft IPAs.  I’m sort of lost with that second sentence though. W hat’s the deal with that goat? I'm not great with phonetic transcriptions. :D

It’s ok, Google had no idea either . I borrowed it from elsewhere and assumed they knew more than I do. (My wife and her side of the family are Hungarian but no one around to translate for me at the moment.)

While it’s not bad at all , its very overpriced ; the finish is very disappointing and the nose lacks some “finesse” and for icy cocktails a Barceló that cost half is similar enough .

To be fair i also am not fond of the Clément Canne Bleue, too sweet for my taste at least for cocktails and neat (feels like its around 40% while its at 50%) but i can understand the appeal (sweeter/softer than most blanc agricoles while still having its taste notes) , i still prefer the classic Clément blanc but maybe its better suited for ti’punch but its not my favo rite drink to be fair.

If you ever get around to get one get you a Brugal XV is also really good. I am not too fond of sweet drinks they mess me up.
